The Magical Moombah!
We're pleased to offer once again our popular Magical Moombah 3 times as a part of our Music & World Cultures program. The Moombah is a musical vaudeville
for kids that is designed to introduce children ages 3 to 10 to the classic traditional, folk and popular songs of America and the world through an
entertaining hour-long potpourri of skits and song numbers. There are knowledge based contests and sing-alongs as well!
Each thematic program also introduces its young audiences to various "factoids"
about the culture focus of the program without being overly pedagogical about it...our goal is to enhance kids' experience of their heritage in a way
that they think is just good fun!
Participating schools receive a packet of the songs that will be presented during the Moombah together with some
background on the songs and the
show's theme so teachers can prepare their students for the experience.
This year's Moombah's include Gloria's Globe Trot! (Friday, Nov 9), Rumbles' River Rambles! (Friday, Feb 29),
and Mr. Big's Zoo! (Friday, May 9).
TIME & PLACE: Each program takes place at The Shedd's Jaqua Concert Hall (Broadway & High in Eugene) at 10:15 am.
The program lasts 1 hour.
FEE & CAPACITY: The fee for each Moombah is $2 per participant. We can accomodate 700 students for each program.
For more information, contact The Shedd (687-6526).
