Reviving A Connecticut Yankee
Thu, Aug 9, 4:00 - 5:00 pm
Shedd Recital Hall, The Shedd Institute
Dorothy Hart wrote of the 1943 revival of A Connecticut Yankee, “This wasn’t an opening; it was the end of a man.” Referring to it’s lyricist Lorenz Hart, Yankee marked the final collaboration of Hart and Richard Rodgers. Max Wilk takes a look at the last days of this amazing duo and how Rodgers attempted to save his friend in the only way he knew how, through their work.
