Harold Arlen has less name recognition than many of the other great composers of the classic American songbook, like Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Irving Berlin or Richard Rodgers, largely because so little of his work came out of Broadway, where the songwriters of a show were so much more prominently featured. However, his wonderfully-written songs--"Blues In The Night", "Paper Moon", "I've Got The World On A String", "Stormy Weather", "Over The Rainbow" among many others--are well-remembered and constitute a significant part of the American songbook canon.
