Ireland’s entry for Eurovision 2007, Dervish are one of the best-loved bands on the World/Roots scene. Their colorful career has taken them to every corner of the globe and has seen them share centre stage with such names as James Brown, The Buena Vista Social Club, Oasis, Sting, REM and many more. Winners of just about every accolade in Irish music, the band’s unique sound is driven by the hypnotic vocal style of Cathy Jordan, with solid support on mandola, flute, fiddle, accordion, bodhran and bazouki. This is traditional Irish music for the 21st century and we’re pleased to present them in the Jaqua Concert Hall for the first time.
